Shamanism

Whenever we have a physical illness or a problem in any area of our life – relationships, business, health or financial, we have a tendency to blame it on others (people or situations). When we go to the doctor or a counselor, what gets cured / treated is the external symptom or situation. However, whenever we have a problem in our lives, we need to understand that there is something that is not in alignment and harmony – either in the area of mind, body or spirit / soul. Solution involves treating the root rather than the apparent cause. While some modalities help deal with the mind, emotions and beliefs, there are some that go beyond and look at the Spirit / Soul aspect of the issue.
Shamanism is one such powerful healing modality which allows you to look deeper and look at the Spirit cause of the issue.
Shamanism is the most ancient spiritual practice known to humankind, dating back well over 30,000 years The word “shaman” comes from the Tungus tribe in Siberia and it means spiritual healer or “One who sees in the dark”. Shamanism has been practiced in Siberia, Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, Greenland, and native North and South America.
A shaman is a man or woman who uses the ability to see “with the strong eye” or “with the heart” and “travels” into hidden realms. In these travels, the shaman interacts directly with helping spirits, addressing the spiritual aspect of illness and finding answers to questions in a spiritually centered manner. The shaman also divines information for the community or client/patient.
Shamanism is the “Path of Direct Revelation”; it is not a religion but a body of practices. These practices enable a Shaman to develop a partnership with the gods, goddesses, spirits & his or her ancestors to access information and healing for himself and others. This is the reason why in Shamanism miracles occur all the time. Shamanism enables the healing to be tailored to the needs of each individual and is not about one healing for all. It heals as against curing – for curing is merely at the physical level. It helps us align and integrate our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual selves.
